Do you ever feel responsible for things you can’t control?
Hello Friends,
Do you ever feel guilty or responsible for things you can’t control? Me, too. For many of us, our childhoods primed us to feel this way. But, our feelings are not facts, and we can grow inner strengths that can liberate us from old, unhelpful beliefs.
When I reached out to Rick Hanson to interview him for the Intergenerational Healing Summit, I had no idea what a profound impact it would have on me. I didn’t know our conversation on inner strengths would take a turn towards my own childhood beliefs of hyper-responsibility. And I didn’t realize he would guide me down a path to discover a fierce sense of justice and loyalty for my own well-being.
But it did! And our journey was one of many fabulous conversations with compassionate healers, including Kristin Neff, Christopher Germer, Chris Willard (my summit cohost!) and so many others!

Join Rick Hanson, Kristin Neff, Chris Willard, Chris Germer, and many others for 5 days of healing!
Here’s a preview of the first day of the summit (July 28th):
Begin your journey by uncovering the roots of intergenerational healing. You’ll learn how to stand on your own side (with Rick Hanson), communicate with clarity and compassion (Oren Jay Sofer), nurture self-compassion across generations (Jamie Lynn Tatera), and support children through parts work and IFS (Carmen Jimenez Pride). This day lays the groundwork for deep, personal and family-level transformation.
And then there are four more days of goodness (click here to see the full line-up of transformative conversations).
Your own healing will be the legacy you leave your children. Intergenerational compassion begins with us. Registration is free, and if you choose to donate, all proceeds will support the GCC’s intergenerational compassion programming (including helping the lessons from the Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Workbook for Kids reach more children!).
I can’t wait to hear Chris Willard’s interviews and share the deep conversations that I had over the course of the five days with you.
Wishing you light and love,
Jamie Lynn
P.S. This past week was full of amazing memories, including my older daughter’s confirmation. It was double special because I had the honor of being her confirmation teacher this past year.
